Welcome to Big Blue Corfu - Weare a British Couple from Bolton Lancashire. We are a Royal Yachting Association "RYA" Training Center. We are certified to offer the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course and issue a Certificate / Licence upon the satisfactory completion of the course
Greek Law - To be in charge of a boat on the water, with greater than 30 hp the person in-charge must hold a valid recognized license /certificate. The Greek authorities Recognise RYA certification
Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) – This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).
The RYA PB2 it is recognised by the Greek authorities, and the authorities of most other countries. Switzerland is a notable exception.
It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. and Fun
Mission statements – Fun whilst Learning. We are here to impart you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make you a safe and responsible captain of a small but powerful boat (up to 10meter). You will leave us with a solid platform to develop your boating skills and withe the confidence to take a boat out, your own, or one hired from one of the local firms, for a fun day out, and return safely.
Customer goal – We want you to enjoy your training, most of our customers are on holiday and do not want to waste there precious time in a dingy classroom hence the White House is our normal classroom. You get to see some of the best locations on Corfu from the sea, San Stefanos, Agni Bay and our Kalami Bay
Group size – I would not like to spend a day or two mixed with other people on this course. therefore I do not mix you with other people that you have not booked with. If you book for yourself you will get one to one tuition, a couple will be as a couple.
Your instructor– I have been boating for about 20 years mainly in Greek waters and around Anglesey The Menai Straights, in the North West corner of Wales where I learned to be an RYA Advanced Power-boater and a RYA powerboat Level 2 Instructor. under the expert tutelage of Phil Sharkey SeaWakes chief Instructor. The Menai Straights Anglesey are one of the most demanding navigable stretches of water in the world, I could not have learned in a better place.
